San Proper
San Proper is een zeer gerespecteerd dj in de Amsterdamse underground club scene. Speelt Friday 15 February op Rush Hour 'Life is Life'.
In de afgelopen tien jaar heeft hij gedraaid in alle grote clubs, bars en lounges in en rond Nederland. U heeft hem horen spelen op de meeste grote en dancefestivals (San heeft een residency op Lowlands), evenals de meer dodgy en ondergrondse locaties.
Hij is zeer bekend en geprezen voor zijn House & Disco sets, maar ook voor een zijn vermenging van verschillende stijlen in een eclectische mix, wat resulteert dj-sets op vele verschillende plekken. In Amsterdam presenteert San trots "The Black Disco Bust" - een clubnacht die cult-status verkreeg met een aantal internationale DJ's op het podium (zoals Daniel Wang).
De Disco Bust gaat over het behoud van het echte geluid van de oude school ondergrondse Disco muziek. In 1998, samen met Alan Luna die, zoals San, is een resident in de Supper Club is, stichtte hij "Choque"-een club nacht over de diepere en warmere klank van kwaliteits housemuziek. Hij heeft deze avond in top Amsterdamse clubs als Mazzo, Bitterzoet, Club 11, Sugar Factory geprogrammeerd en nog veel meer.
San Proper begon als een gitarist. Hij speelde met verschillende bands in het live-circuit waar hij een ruime ervaring verwierf in de muziek. In '95 stichtte hij "The Mindmenders", een Funk / Hiphop band, die uiteindelijk 'De Grote prijs van Nederland' won '99, een jaarlijkse award-show voor opkomende kunstenaars. Hij verliet de band na een tijd, om zich meer te concentreren op zijn solo producties en zijn carrière als DJ.
Vandaag de dag wordt hij in één rijtje genoemd met bekende Amsterdamse namen als Melon, Tom Trago, Cinnaman en Steven de Peven, met wie hij allemaal contacten heeft via Rushhour.
